CCL Australia is fully volunteer run and led. On behalf of CCL Australia a very big thank you to this year’s 2018 conference coordinators and their teams led by Peter Todd, Susie Fraser and Rod Mitchell.
New CCL members can begin to prepare to join in CCL Australia Lobby Days events by watching these three CCL videos. They have been created and shared by CCL Australia’s US colleagues and provide a good overview of CCLs values and mission as well as an outline of what happens when we meet with MPs.
CCL Australia Conferences and Lobby Days events are CCLs key learning and networking events.
Lobby Days are often the first time a person meets their MP to discuss climate, and the conference enables that experience to be positive, impactful and powerful. A Lobby Day is also usually the first time an MP or their staff have met CCL! Our methodology ensures that this positive contact is useful to the MP and the first of many!
Interns working within CCL Australia’s Intern Program as part of their studies are integral to the planning and running of CCL Australia Conferences and Lobby Days. Read more here about the Intern Program, including a position description and how to apply, and donate here to help fund and expand the program.
Starting in 2018 CCL Australia is now able to run regional conferences and lobby days in or near capital cities and regional centres.
This allows us to to provide a convenient way to allow both state and federal MPs to meet with local CCL volunteers more often.
The CCL training and networking offered within each region is inspiring, informative, fun and inclusive – everybody is welcome. If you’d like to be part of this in 2019 let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org
