CCL member Steve Posselt has completed the final Canberra leg of his Kayak4Earth world marathon. Leaving Ballina on January 17 he paddled to Moruya, and then dragged his kayak up the range on foot to Canberra, arriving on February 25.

As his many stops along the way, Steve collected 18, 000 signatures for the climate emergency declaration petition which he delivered to Parliament House Canberra (pictured).

Congratulations to Steve for his remarkable journey on behalf of a liveable world! CCL members were among the crowd as some of Steve’s stopping points, with Tom Hunt and Peter Todd organising the events in Wollongong and Kiama read more here.

 

Bob Inglis, a former US Congressman and a member of the Citizens Climate Lobby Advisory Board, visited Australia as a guest of The Australia Insitute. Bob has set up RepublicEn and specialises in speaking the importance of implementing revenue neutral carbon pricing and dividends in ways that can be understood by conservatives. He addressed the National Press Club on February 22. ABC iview – episode 5.

An important international event in the US was the launch of The Conservative Case for Carbon Dividends by the Climate Leadership Council, a group of eminent conservatives that includes two former Secretaries of State.

And, CCL Australia climate interns are busily scheduling meetings for lobby days on March 20-21.
