CCL Australia believes that local action can lead to national results, therefore a big part of what we do is meet up with like-minded individuals in our local area to discuss climate change issues and strategies. Each local CCL Group meets face to face once a month in their local area.
When you join CCL, you are placed into a CCL group based on the House of Representatives electorate for your state or territory e.g. if you live in Randwick in Sydney, you would be placed into the “AUS NSW Kingsford Smith” group.
Email your Regional Coordinator below to find out where and when your nearest CCL Group meets:
- NSW – Peter firstname.lastname@example.org (Sydney and Northern NSW) and Tom email@example.com (southern NSW)
- ACT – Tom firstname.lastname@example.org

National Conversation (online)
Once a month we hold a National Conversation online using the ZOOM Platform. This is an informal get-to-know other members around Australia, where you can have a chat, share your ideas or ask questions with different members from all around the country.
The National Conversation occurs on the 4th Thursday of each month.
Monthly Guest Speaker (online)
Each month we have a national web-based talk by a special guest speaker who discusses an area of expertise relating to climate change. Tune in online with ZOOM to hear an amazing talk. Past topics include “Increasing Bushfire Risks”, “Just Transitions for Fossil Fuel Workers” and “Healthy Soils, Healthy Climate”.
The Monthly Guest Speaker talk occurs on the 2nd Saturday of each month.

CCL Australia also has a number of larger events and conferences throughout the year. Every CCL member has the opportunity to attend two larger conferences:
• Regional Conference – each state or territory has their own Regional Conference each year in their capital city.
• NATIONAL Conference – there is a National Conference in Canberra each year where all our members from around Australia are invited to join.
Each Conference includes 1-2 days of training followed by MP meetings in Parliament House and in electorate offices, where our volunteers meet as many Members of Parliament and/or their advisers as possible.
There we share our Carbon Fee and Dividend plan; advocate for a Parliamentary Friends of Climate Solutions, and most importantly hear and note MP’s views on climate and on climate solutions policies.
These ‘lobby days’ meetings then lead to opportunities for subsequent meetings with MPs and staff in local electorates.
